Lately

So excited to share this week's lately post with you all!

I have mentioned before that I have an obsession with Tokidoki art toys, in particular unicornos, mermicornos, and cactus pups. I saw these cactus pup macarons on Instagram this week and fell in deep love with these sweet treats.

I would love to find a way to make these with my own Babycakes cake pop maker, which I also wanted to mention as one of my favorite ideas for a Christmas gift for her!

This makes not only cake pops, but also mini donuts, dipping balls, and plenty of other appetizers that you can read about the in the Babycakes cookbook. I highly recommend this as a stocking stuff in addition to the gift, because there are so many ideas the book accompanies that I would have never thought of.

Who else received the Lilly Pulitzer catalot this past week with a stunning sample of Lilly Pulitzer wrapping paper?! It made me excited for next summer already. Lilly has been hitting the nail on the head with prints lately. I definitely had to exercise self control not to purchase anything in the catalog, but did use the wrapping paper for my sister's birthday gift!

I recently discovered Poshmark, a  website similar to eBay that allows you to sell your gently used
clothing for a fraction of the price. I have some of my own items listed as well, and have already sold a few! I love that you can use money from items that you sell to purchase other items. I have also found that many of the items listed on Poshmark are actually NWT (new with tags!). Within 24 hours of discovering the Poshmark app I scored these 2 Devon Baer silk tops and this ruffled Elizabeth McKay top. I grew up with a mother who believed in the magic of garage sales and thrift stores, and I have maintained that mentality. This site is essentially that...but allows me the luxury of sitting on my couch while rummaging! I highly encourage you to check it out.

You can view my Poshmark listings here. I currently only have accessory listings, I have not had a chance to comb through my closet as of yet.

Additionally, driving to work in complete whiteouts is what the beginning of my next six months is looking like.

Finally, Will surprised me the other night with pizza and The Secret Life of Pets.
Probably the best movie I have seen this year aside from St. Vincent with Bill Murray.

What is new lately with you?

XOXO,

Winter Wonderland Inspiration

This slideshow is bursting with winter hues and tasteful check plaids.

I am so in love with many of the options available out there for winter gathering and Christmas party outfits! It really has me aching to get out of my scrubs.

XOXO,

Shop My Closet, Christmas Deals & More !

There are a few exciting things happening on A Duchess & A Blog.

Remember the other day when I talked about my excitement in discovering Poshmark, a high end used clothing site? I love it. I have already found various items from Devon Baer to Elizabeth McKay for nearly 1/10 of the price which would have otherwise cost a fortune. Well, now you can shop my closet on Poshmark! You can visit my listings on the toolbar to the right. Currently there are beautiful gowns listed, gently used scrub tops, and a pearl necklace...but there will be exciting designer listings coming soon!

Have you ever checked the clearance at Tuckernuck
If not, now is the time. A lot of the summer items are being discontinued and on deep, deep discount. I loved that there was an additional 20 - 30 % off on Black Friday. I am sure there will be sales approaching in the upcoming weeks prior to Christmas as well. I loved all of the beautiful summer blues I got in the mail...this might be a blue Christmas after all.

What is a magical and cheap date? Christmas light sightseeing! We took a date to a small downtown area in a suburb close to us and enjoyed every minute of the sparkling lights.

Afterwards, we went to a nice bar and had a drink with chocolate liquor as well as a raspberry mixed drink.

The atmosphere in the bar was so cozy.

What have you been up to lately this holiday season?

XOXO,

Lately

The holiday season is officially in full swing, which makes me a very excited lady!

In exciting news, I recently discovered Poshmark. Seriously , this site is awesome  It is a used clothing app where you can both sell and buy clothes and use the credits you receive from selling to buy more clothes. Many of the items are actually brand new with tags or in excellent shape. I have already found absolutely beautiful Elizabeth McKay and Devon Baer tops for less than a quarter of the absolutely ridiculous price tag they come with, though the quality is often unmatched.

Here are two of the steals I have found so far:

This is in no way an imbursed post, just simply my own opinion on a site I was very excited to Discover! The app can be downloaded on both Androids and iPhones. Happy shopping!

In other exciting news, I was excited to score two new additions to my Tokidoki art toy collection, including a Unicorno from the series 5 and a Cactus Pet. I have become obsessed with these quirky critters and they have found their way around my home. Opening these blindboxes is more fun than Christmas!

My boyfriend and I went to a jazz club the other week and had so much fun. Nighttown in Cleveland, Ohio has a different jazz band every night. We skipped dinner and just went for drinks. I loved my pomegranate martinis.

I finally sucked it up and ordered an entire earring back set from Amazon. I have lost so many of my good backs that I am now losing my earrings at work when talking on the hard work phone...my hope is this box has the solutions for all of my earrings.

I made this absolutely delicious chicken pesto pasta dish with roasted red peppers. Will and I loved it. Recipe to follow soon!

On another note, the holiday season has officially begun !

XOXO,
